Two people died from overdoses in Hartford Friday night

HARTFORD (WFSB) - Two people have died as a result of drug overdoses Friday night. 

According to police, emergency medical personnel were called to the area of 700 Maple Ave. Friday night.

Police said 2 people died and others were transported from the scene. 

Upon investigation, police said there was a triple overdose and each person ingested a single pill before coming violently ill. The provider of the pills died.

Police said they have no other pills to analyze.

Detectives are awaiting toxicology reports.

"There has been fentanyl laced pills seized all over the world, resembling prescription painkillers. Know the origins of medications you take, and never share prescriptions," Hartford police said.
