A building on the University of Connecticut was evacuated after smoke was discovered on Friday afternoon.

People reported seeing a "light smoke/haze" on the third floor of the Information Technologies Engineering Building around 12:05 p.m., according to UConn spokeswoman. Even though there were only a few classes in the building, those students were evacuated as a precaution.

UConn firefighters were called the Information Technologies Engineering Building and they used thermal imaging cameras to determine the source of the smoke. There was no fire and the incident was minor, according to UConn spokeswoman.
