WINDSOR LOCKS (WFSB) - Windsor Locks police are investigating after a teenager was shot and killed Wednesday night at a park.

According to a police report, the victim was found in Pesci Park off Center Street near the baseball field shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

He was suffering from several gunshot wounds and was quickly transported to an area hospital, where unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an argument between several people and that a male suspect then pulled out a firearm, possible a pistol, and fired several shots at the victim.

The suspect was last seen fleeing Pesci Park in a black or dark colored Lexus with possible Connecticut or North Carolina plates.

On Thursday night, loved ones held a vigil for the teen.

The family asked Channel 3 not to identify the teen who would have been a senior in high school this coming fall.

"The killing of a sixteen-year-old boy should not be something that is familiar to us," a loved one said.

Windsor Locks Public School Superintendent Shawn Parkhurt released a statement about the student who was killed.

Parkhurst said thee teen was, "a young man with a contagious smile" who just completed his junior year and was an integral member of the Windsor Locks High School basketball team.

Windsor Locks police said they are following up on numerous leads and tips.  The Connecticut State Police along with the State of Connecticut's Inspector's office responded to help with processing the scene.

Police are saying that the shooting does appear to be a targeted incident and do not believe there is any threat to the general public.

"We canvassed numerous areas throughout the region. Most of them pointing back to Hartford," said Lt. Paul Cherniack, Windsor Locks Police Department.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Windsor Locks Police Department.

The Windsor Locks Public School system said mental health practitioners are available via phone to support students and staff. People should email to received a response from the staff.

Members of the boys and girls basketball team will also postpone their end of the season close out events until July 4, 2020.

You cannot have a reasonably harmonious multiracial society without equality under the law. You cannot have "justice" if one group (Whites) is scapegoated for the failures of other groups. Punishing an entire group for the sins of a few is blatantly immoral. I refuse to accept the collective punishment BLM/Antifa is attempting to impose. And I refuse to be silent.

To my point. You are always silent if you're only on this site or any other site shouting to the world as 'mike6972'. But please continue to "refuse" and amuse.

Not much detail in this story. Elsewhere, we learn that "According to police, it appeared a dispute had happened between numerous people that culminated in the park. A man had produced a semi-automatic pistol and had fired numerous shots at the juvenile, police said." We also know that it happened at 10:20 PM. Not many families out at 10:20 PM on a weeknight. What can we reasonably infer from all of this? It's likely that the victim was Black and the shooter was Black. It is also likely that gang rivalry was involved. Why aren't we told these things? Because it conflicts with the "approved" narrative that most Black murder victims are being killed by White policemen. Which of course is a bald-faced lie. Most Black murder victims are killed by other Blacks. Most Black crime victims are victimized by other Blacks. Yet "Black Lives Matter" pretends Black-on-Black crime does not exist. Apparently, "black lives matter", except when Black lives are taken by other Blacks.

How are you going to alert white America to the coming Black takeover by posting anonymously to the five of us here who actually read your craziness?
