Waterbury firefighters battled a large blaze at a vacant factory building on Monday evening.

Crews responded to 737 Bank Street around 8:45 p.m. to a three-floor fire.

Firefighters will be on scene into the morning and possibly into the day due to hot spots.

A fire official said there are road closures at Bank Street by West Liberty Street and Washington Avenue is closed between Hills Street and South Leonard Street.

Chief Martin said no one was injured and there is no danger to the public.

Mutual aid was requested to assist Waterbury fire crews.

An Eyewitness told Channel 3 the building once was a brass mill.

It is unclear at this time what caused the fire.
