October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

To raise awareness, the SWAT team in Willimantic is going pink.

The police department posted a photo to Facebook of its SWAT team members donning pink shirts and posing in front of one of their trucks.

Police said one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and 1.7 million are affected every year by the disease.

They asked people to continue to spread the word and contribute if possible.
