A 7-year-old girl suffered a possible head and neck injury after police said she was stuck by a motor vehicle in Coventry on Friday evening.

The unidentified girl was riding her bicycle when police said she was hit in the area of 40 Nathan Hale Dr. around 5:15 p.m.

Police said the girl was alert and conscious on arrival, but due to possible injuries, Life Star medical helicopter was called to the scene.

Coventry and North Coventry firefighters were called to the scene.

Although it does not appear that the operator of the vehicle was a fault, police said the case remains under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Coventry Police Department at 860-42-7331.
