(Meredith) -- Senate leaders will meet Thursday to vote on possible solutions to end the government shutdown.
There are two bills. One includes $5.7 billion for a border wall, and the other extends funding for government agencies through February 8. The plan is reportedly a compromise between Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
“People are saying isn’t there a way out of this mess, isn’t there a way to relieve the burden on the 800,000 federal workers not getting paid, isn’t there a way to get government services open first and debate what we should do for border security later? Well, now there’s a way,” Schumer said.
An estimated 800,000 federal workers are expected to miss another paycheck on Friday.
