Murder investigation underway in Waterbury

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) - A 30-year-old man was the victim of a homicide in Waterbury, according to police.

They identified the victim as Roberto Baez of Waterbury.

Police said they responded to Washington Street.

A report said shots were fired in the area of 69 Washington St. around 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

It also said a victim was transported to a hospital by way of a private vehicle.

Officers found the victim there.

However, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers said they found evidence of shots fired in the area outside of an address where they believed the homicide happened.

They believe it happened as the result of a dispute.
