BEACON FALLS, CT (WFSB) - A German shepherd was found tied to the side of Route 8 in Beacon Falls.

Woodbridge Regional Animal Control posted photos of it to social media late Sunday night.

It reported that a woman called state police after spotting the dog along Route 8 south just past exit 25.

“This poor intact young male shepherd was tied up to the side of the highway with a prong collar on,” animal control said. “No food nor no water. Totally skin and bones.”

PETA offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information on who was responsible for leaving the dog was asked to contact Woodbridge Regional Animal Control at 203-389-5991.

Animal control said the dog was not available for adoption while the investigation continued.

“If you know any information, you can remain anonymous,” it said.
