3 CARES: WFSB teams up with 99.1 WPLR to raise money for those affected by historic flooding

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - Historic flooding left many people without homes and washed out roads in a number of communities.

The rain from Aug. 18 was described by meteorologists and weather officials as a once in a 1,000 year event.

“We need all the help we can get,” said Cathy Dibner, Southbury.

Dibner lost 100 chickens and acres of beautiful property in the historic flooding.

She along with thousands of others need our help.

Channel 3 teamed up with 99.1 WPLR to help the people impacted by the severe flooding.

Right now, people can donate through the TEAM Inc. organization here.

All of the funds collected and will be distributed by TEAM Inc. to a local nonprofit agency.

So far, nearly $60,000 has been raised, according to TEAM Inc.
