UConn Men’s Ice Hockey advances to Hockey East Championship

Conn. (WFSB) - With all the madness surrounding college basketball, the college ice hockey conference tournaments are heating up. On Thursday night, the UConn Men’s Hockey team hit the ice at the Boston Garden for a showdown with Boston University in the Hockey East Semifinals.

After falling behind one to nothing in the first, the Huskies found the back of the net three times in the second period, completely swinging the momentum of the game in their favor. UConn’s Joey Muldowney helped the Huskies reach the finish line with a hat trick, leading UConn to victory, 5-2.

This win means the Huskies are moving on to Friday night’s Hockey East Championship game, with a chance to win their first ever Hockey East Conference title. The puck drops for the conference championship game at 7:30pm, at the TD Garden in Boston.
