Man accused of sexually assaulting teen girl at child’s birthday party

COLCHESTER, CT (WFSB) - A teenage girl revealed to a therapist that she was sexually assaulted at a birthday party in Colchester, according to state police.

Troopers arrested 39-year-old Michael Parkinson of Clearmont, NH on Friday.

The incident happened in April 2024.

According to Parkinson’s arrest warrant, it happened at a birthday party for the victim’s younger brother.

In the warrant, the victim explained how Parkinson inappropriately touched her in a dark bedroom and put her hand on his pants.

She said the two of them never actually had sex, however.

According to the warrant, when the mother found out, she ended the relationship she had with him and was granted a protective order.

Parkinson was charged with illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16 and second-degree sexual assault.

He was held on a $250,000 bond and scheduled to face a judge in Norwich on Monday.
