2017 winner commits to the Travelers Championship

CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) - A former winner of the Travelers Championship has committed to return to Cromwell.

Jordan Spieth plans to join the field at the TPC River Highlands for next month’s stop on the PGA Tour.

Spieth was ranked 51st in the World Golf Rankings as of Wednesday morning. However, he won the Travelers Championship in 2017.

Spieth will join a crowded field that includes a lot of the planet’s top golfers.

The players who have committed are Ludvig Åberg, Patrick Cantlay, Wyndham Clark, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Russell Henley, Viktor Hovland, Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, Maverick McNealy, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, and Justin Thomas.

The Travelers Championship runs from June 16-22 in Cromwell.
