No. 2 UConn beats No. 10 Xavier 93-68 to advance in Big East tournament

NEW YORK, NY (WFSB) - The UConn men’s basketball team took care of business and beat the tenth seeded Xavier Musketeers 93-68 in the Big East conference tournament quarterfinals Thursday evening.

Solo Ball led the team in scoring with 19 points. Tarris Reed Jr. had the most rebounds with 14 and Alex Karaban was the primary playmaker with four assists.

The Huskies held Xavier to just 37% shooting from the field and 32% from three point range. They also outrebounded the Musketeers 40-28.

UConn will face the winner of the Villanova-Georgetown game in the semifinals.

The semifinal matchup is set to tip off at 8:00 p.m. Friday and can be watched on FS1.
