This is who the UConn men will play in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament

(WFSB) - The UConn men’s basketball team learned on Sunday who they will play in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskies were given a #2 seed and will play the #15 seed Furman Paladins on Friday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Duke Blue Devils earned the #1 seed in their region. Michigan State and Kansas were #3 and #4 respectively.

They are coming off a devastating loss to the St. John’s Red Storm in the Big East championship game Saturday. The Red Storm are a #5 seed in the east region with UConn.

Last year, UConn beat Oklahoma in the first round before falling to eventual national champions Florida in a hard fought matchup.

Tip time for the Huskies vs. Furman is set for 10:00 p.m. The game can be viewed on TBS.
