Murray to be introduced as BC’s new men’s basketball coach
BOSTON (WFSB) - The UConn men’s basketball team may be in the middle of an epic NCAA tournament run, but one of its assistant coaches is shipping up to Boston.
Luke Murray is set to be introduced Tuesday afternoon as the next head coach of Boston College men’s basketball.
A news conference was set for 2:30 p.m. in Boston.
Murray helped the UConn men’s basketball team secure back-to-back NCAA tournament titles in 2023 and 2024.
He’s been on the bench for the current tournament run as well, and will remain that way until the Huskies are finished.
BC said it liked Murray’s offensive acumen, player development, and recruiting success. It also said Murray brings more than a decade of coaching experience to the table. He’s the 14th coach in program history.
Before spending five seasons at UConn, Murray held assistant coaching roles at Louisville, Xavier, Rhode Island, Towson, and Wagner.
Murray is the son of actor Bill Murray.
