What to know about the 2026 Travelers Championship

CROMWELL, Conn. (WFSB) - The Connecticut stop on the PGA Tour starts this week.

The 2026 Travelers Championship Runs from June 22-28 at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.

Here’s what golf fans should know.

Tournament quick facts

• Player field: 78-80.
• Format: 72-hole stroke play.
• The purse: $20 million.
• Winner’s share: $3.6 million.
• The winner also receives 700 FedExCup points.

The player field

It will feature 72 players competing for four rounds, including the top 50 from the World Golf Ranking.

Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and more will be there.

Fan favorite Rory McIlroy will not be there.

Recent champions

Keegan Bradley took home the trophy in 2025 with a 6-foot birdie putt in the last hole. He also won it in 2023.

Other previous champions include Scottie Scheffler in 2024, Xander Schauffele in 2022, Harris English in 2021, and Dustin Johnson in 2020.

Key dates and times

The Travelers Pro-Am was set Wednesday, June 24 with the the first tee at 7 a.m. Ticketed spectators were allowed on-site starting at 6:30 a.m.

Tournament play officially begins Thursday, June 25.

Planning your visit

Plan ahead and think about who you want to see and where you want to go before arriving at the course.

If you prefer to explore the course, holes 15, 16 and 17 offer the best viewing areas.

Parking and directions

General parking is included with each ticket, but is on a first-come-first serve basis.

VIP Parking is located in our Red Lot at the 9 Gate Entrance.

Bike parking is available at our 9th hole gate off of Golf Club Road.

Parking lots open one hour prior to Gates and close one hour after play ends.

Family activities

Kids 15 and under get in free with an adult.

The practice area is a good spot for children to see players up close as they prepare for play.

The Fan Zone offers a mini golf course, a rock climbing wall and numerous tents with games.

Family care stations and cooling stations are available throughout the course.

Bring an empty refillable water bottle. Hydration stations are located throughout the course.

Food and beverage

Find the Tree House Beer Garden at the 14th green and 15th hole.

The Dobel Tequila – Bushmills Irish Whiskey Bar can be found on the event lawn, Links Drinks Transfusion Bar is in the Fan Zone, and the Sun Cruiser Sun Deck Bar is at the 8th hole.

Food trucks are located at the 5th and 6th holes, including Blue Chip Creamery, Crispy Melty grilled cheese, Liberty Rock Tavern southern fried chicken, and The Wright Way burgers and BBQ.

On the event lawn, fans can found the Barbecue District, the Lobster Shack, and Zoca.

Prices differed per day, with the cheapest general admission ticket listed at $104 for Wednesday and the most expensive listed at $605.80 for Sunday.

Changes coming to the PGA Tour in 2028

Tiger Woods made an appearance at the TPC River Highlands on Tuesday to introduce the CEO of the PGA Tour.

It was his first public appearance since his DUI arrest in March. He is not a player in the Travelers Championship.

PGA Tour Commissioner Brian Rolapp said the tour will move to two series starting in 2028.
