CROMWELL, Conn. (WFSB) - Hundreds of women gathered at the TPC River Highlands for the annual Women’s Day event at the Travelers Championship, an event centered on women’s empowerment.

“This is my favorite week of the year. I would not miss this for anything. It is the best week,” said Ann Delanhaty, who traveled from New Jersey.

Kristen Fox, also from New Jersey, attended Women’s Day. She said for her, it was her second time.

“You really always learn something different when you’re at Women’s Day and have the opportunity to get up close and personal with such amazing people,” Fox said.

Tina Shea, who drove in from Burlington, said this was her third time at the event.

“This is the third Women’s Day that I’ve been to and it’s just a ton of fun. Very entertaining, energizing,” Shea said.

Organizers said 500 attendees came to see former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager, who was billed as an author and television show co-host.

“It comes full circle, they have Jenna Bush Hager is here — so exciting. A couple Broadway singers. And it’s a great opportunity to network,” Delanhaty said.

Karen Goyette, with Hartford HealthCare, the sponsor of the event, said Women’s Day has grown over the last 18 years.

“I think they’ve done a great job getting relative speakers. They mix it with health and wellness and celebs, national personalities as well as fun things like influencers,” Goyette said. “One year they had the UConn women’s basketball team.”

Women’s Day is a popular Travelers Championship event and sells out within minutes when tickets first go on sale, the report said.
