Enfield voters approve $511 million school construction proposal, unofficial results show
HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Voters in Enfield chose to move forward with a school construction project, Patch reported.
A referendum question was on the ballot during Tuesday’s general election.
The question asked voters to approve the $511 million project with up to $89 million in town borrowing.
It called for the creation of four new schools, including Hazardville Memorial Elementary School, Prudence Crandall Elementary School, Parkman Elementary School, and Barnard Elementary School. It also sought the conversion of Eli Whitney Elementary School into the Eagle Academy Therapeutic Day School.
Patch cited unofficial results from the state’s election center that showed the measure passing with more than 90 percent of precincts reporting as of 11 a.m. Wednesday.
