People soak up the sun as temperatures soar to late summer levels

(WFSB) - People were soaking up the sun as temperatures soared to late summer levels Wednesday.

At Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, beachgoers were ecstatic as the sun beamed down on them.

“Having fun in the ocean today..in November,” said Kolby Blachik.

“It’s a great day to come out to the beach we just came here to hang out and we skipped school,” said 6-year-old Nicholas Battadlino.

From walks along the shore to grabbing a lobster roll, people found plenty of ways to spend the afternoon.

Local businesses were hoping the gorgeous day would attract more customers.

“It doesn’t feel like November at all. We are anticipating more people today because it is so nice out,” said Angela Morander, Co-Owner, Lobster Landing.

Joyce and Marty Bolduc of Bristol chose the establishment to celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary.

“Spend your time outside, it is beautiful. Spend the day outside. We don’t want it to end,” they said.
