NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WFSB) - State Police are seeking the public’s help finding a driver of a involving in a hit-and-run on Route 8 southbound in Naugatuck early Wednesday morning.

Troopers were called to the area of Route 8 south near Exit 24 after a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, according to state police.

When crews arrived, they found a 2005 Toyota Camry parked on the right shoulder just before the Exit 24 off-ramp.

The occupant of Toyota, identified as 43-year-old Humberto Flores-Ramirez, was outside the car near the back on the driver’s side when a vehicle swerved into the shoulder and struck him, state police said.

First responders treated Flores-Ramirez, and he was taken to Waterbury Hospital.

Police believe the suspect vehicle is a white 2025-2027 Hyundai Genesis GV70 with damage to the right side, including the right side-view mirror, right headlight and right front fender.

No further details were released.
