UConn heads to Michigan for top 5 matchup

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WFSB) - The No. 2 UConn women’s basketball team is in Ann Arbor, MI to take on No. 5 Michigan on Thursday night.

The game for the Huskies marks the first of four straight against ranked opponents.

Tip off is set for 6:30 p.m.

UConn opened its season with a blowout 100-35 win over Cornell on Monday.

Junior Sarah Strong and freshman Jovana Popovic put up 19 points apiece.

Strong snatched a career high 8 steals.

Following the game against the Wolverines, the Huskies face No. 10 Iowa, No. 18 Ohio State, and No. 7 Louisville.

The game against Iowa is Sunday at 2 p.m.

Before the game, UConn will induct Azzi Fudd into the Huskies of Honor.
