UConn football gets ready for Senior Day against Sacred Heart

STORRS, Conn. (WFSB) - It’s senior Saturday for the UConn football team.

They’ll play their final game at Rentschler Field against Sacred Heart.

The seniors who are leaving have had unique college football careers. They had a season cancelled because of COVID, a head coach was fired, an interim coach, and another coach.

Twelve of them will play on Saturday, and no one’s had a bigger impact than the two with a chance to play in the NFL, Jackson Mitchell, and Christian Haynes.

“Although it’s not what I had envisioned when I first committed here, it is a better place. I do feel like we’ve done something. It’s gonna be so, where I am sad, tears little bit maybe.”

UConn’s final home game will be at the Rent Saturday at noon. Kickoff will be shown on Channel 3.
