PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WFSB) - Plainville’s annual Balloon Fest concludes today at Norton Park, capping off the festival’s 39th year with early morning and evening balloon launches.

Balloons take flight at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and are first come, first served, according to organizers. Rides cost $30.

Classic and specialty cars will fill the field alongside games, rides and food, organizers said.

The event is one of the biggest fundraising events for the Plainville Fire Company, helping support its operations as well as scholarships and assistance to area organizations.

Admission to the event is free, but organizers say to bring cash. Shuttle service from Robertson Airport costs $5.
