Middle school principal suspended after being accused of stalking a teacher, officials say

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN/Gray News) - A middle school principal in North Carolina was suspended after being accused of stalking a teacher, according to authorities.

Wellcome Middle School Principal Keith Neal was charged with misdemeanor stalking on Wednesday, the same day officials said he was suspended with pay.

Warrants say Neal would drive by a woman’s home, show up uninvited and try to enter her home despite several requests from her to stop.

Pitt County Schools says Neal started his leadership career with the school system as J.H. Rose High School’s assistant principal in 2018.

Three years later, he transferred to Pactolus School in the same role and was promoted to principal of Wellcome Middle School in 2022.

The 42-year-old Neal posted a $75,000 secured bond Wednesday.
