NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) - Central Connecticut State University in New Britain is investigating after allegations of sexual assault against a student.

A TikTok video is circulating throughout the school where a student is accusing another of sexual assault.

School officials say no formal complaint has been filed.

Details about what happened were not released by the university.

However, it said it was seeking information and the victim.

Nichele Mcfarlane says after seeing the video, it makes her question her safety and she feels unheard.

“He’s had a lot of accusations against him and it took that video happening for anyone to really notice,” said Nichele.

Students told Channel 3 that it is shocking and concerning knowing that something like this could have happened at their school.

“It kind of surprised me to know that someone in power at the school has done something like that or there’s accusations of it. I think it’s something that should be taken seriously,” said Mason Stanko, Sophomore.

“I thought it was crazy and unacceptable that it was happening here at school and that stuff like this is going on. It’s just unacceptable,” said Fakhri Ramadhan, Freshman.

The fall semester just started for the students.

“Only 2 weeks in, not even. It’s crazy,” said Ramadhan. “I hope they find out who and what’s happening. I hope the girl who got assaulted gets justice and I hope things here pan out with more security and more measures out for them.”

“Hopefully other people, girls, can come forward with other names that they have and they wont be so scared,” said Nichele.

Students are planning to speak out about at the school tomorrow at noon.

The school asked people who may know anything to contact Dr. Craig Wright at its Office for Equity & Inclusion.

CCSU president Zulma R. Toro issued a statement on the school’s social media about its investigation.

Late today, allegations came to light about a student accused of sexual assault. As soon as I was notified of this information, I directed our new Vice President for Equity & Inclusion Craig Wright to begin an expedited and thorough investigation. If you have any information or were personally aggrieved, please contact Dr. Wright at craig.wright@ccsu.edu, as soon as possible.
