Bob Edwards, longtime ‘Morning Edition’ host, dies at 76

(Gray News) – Longtime morning National Public Radio host Bob Edwards has died, according to NPR. He was 76 years old.

Edwards was the host of the radio station’s “Morning Edition” show for 24 ½ years, NPR said, adding people knew him as the “voice we woke up to.”

He left NPR in 2004 and interviewed one of his radio heroes, Charles Osgood, during his last show.

NPR reports Osgood was also the first person Edwards interviewed for “Morning Edition.”

Edwards went on to host his own show at Sirius XM Radio. He could also be heard on “Bob Edwards Weekend” through public radio channels.
