Raising Cane’s hires Enfield officers to help ease traffic issues following grand opening

ENFIELD, CT (WFSB) - A popular nationwide fast food chain opened a location in Enfield on Tuesday, and it had to call for backup.

Enfield police said some of their officers were hired to help ease traffic following the grand opening of Baton Rouge-based Raising Cane’s.

“Raising Cane’s has hired police officers to work for the next couple weeks to help with safety and traffic flow,” Enfield police said. “We wanted to put some information out to help make your visit as quick and delicious as possible.”

Police said that there was a two lane takeout line that formed from the main entrance into the parking lot and continues across the Enfield Square perimeter road into the old Sears parking lot.

“The line continues (two wide) south until the Sears building where it turns,” police mapped out. “When you enter the mall property, it will save you time and frustration if you come in from Elm Street rather than trying to jump into the line from the opposite side.”

Police also asked that people stay in line and follow the traffic pattern.

“We want to make sure safety comes first, our customers safety and our customers always come first,” said zone manager, Andres Rodriguez.

The excitement of Connecticut’s first Raising Cane’s location is building attention on social media as customers say the fast food chain is worth the hype.

Raising Cane’s is known for their chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, and Cane’s sauce.

“Just really excited to try Raising Cane’s. It’s new, I’ve never had it before and I’m excited to try it,” said customer, Hailey Testa.

Although lines were long, the launch of Connecticut’s first location was a success.

“It’s been really really really awesome here. Just to see all the love and support. There were some campers last night. Some of them get that free cane’s for a year,” said Rodriguez.

Raising Cane’s is open from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Customers can do mobile order pickup, dine-in, or go through the drive through.
