HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Hartford HealthCare has entered into an agreement to bid on Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital from Prospect Medical Holdings, though no final deal has been confirmed.

In an official statement, Hartford HealthCare emphasized its commitment to advancing healthcare through greater access, affordability, health equity, and excellence.

“Given Prospect’s ongoing restructuring proceedings, this is a complex process that will unfold over the coming weeks,” the statement said.

The organization highlighted its capability to stabilize and expand the workforce at these hospitals, enhance quality and safety, and make strategic investments in people, programs, technologies, facilities, and community partnerships.

“Every hospital that has joined Hartford HealthCare has experienced measurable positive results that benefit patients, including top safety ratings from Leapfrog, improved access to primary, urgent, and specialty care close to home, and recruitment of world-class clinicians,” the statement added.

While the bid signals a potential change in ownership, the acquisition remains subject to ongoing negotiations and regulatory approvals.

More details will be shared as the situation develops.
