UConn football looking to rebound against UAB after third overtime loss

STORRS, CT. (WFSB) - The UConn football team has a chance this Saturday to become bowl eligible.

A win at home over the UAB Blazers would give the Huskies six wins, the minimum amount a team needs to get a post-season invite.

UConn suffered a devastating 37-34 loss against Rice on the road in overtime this past weekend. All three of the Huskies’ losses this season have come in overtime on the road.

The team led most of the contest and Quarterback Joe Fagnano had a great day, throwing for 344 yards and three touchdowns. Skylar Bell also made a monster impact.

But the defense broke down in big ways, and when it mattered most, they couldn’t keep Rice out of the end zone.
