Woman ‘too intoxicated to fly’ arrested at airport after refusing to leave, New Haven police say
NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) - A woman deemed by an airline to be too intoxicated to fly was arrested by officers at an airport, according to New Haven police.
They identified the woman as 44-year-old Kristen Powers of Southbury.

Police said the incident happened on Sunday at Tweed New Haven Airport around 4:50 p.m.
They said they were advised that there were multiple intoxicated people inside a terminal.
The group dispersed, but Powers remained. Police said she was advised multiple times that the airline was not allowing her to fly because of her level of intoxication and that she was instructed to leave the premises.
Police said Powers was belligerent and argumentative, so they arranged a ride for her.
However, they said they were called back to the building because of Powers’ behavior.
They said officers and Tweed staff continued to try to deescalate the situation and convince her to leave.
She reportedly told officers to “arrest me” and “place me under arrest.”
So, they did.
Powers was charged with disorderly conduct and first-degree criminal trespassing.
She was released on a $500 bond.
