Braylon Mullins makes decision about UConn return

STORRS, Conn. (WFSB) - UConn’s standout shooting guard, Braylon Mullins, announced his return Saturday to the UConn men’s basketball team for the 2026-2027 season.

The freshman posted about his return on Instagram saying, “unfinished business”.

Mullins averaged 12.0 points per game and was third on the team in 3-pointers with 72.

The NBA had already been scouting the Indiana native in high school. Mock drafts had Mullins on their boards as a possible first rounder this year.

When the sharpshooter first arrived on campus, Dan Hurley referenced he was a possible one-and-done college player.

Mullins made a bigger name for himself after scoring a 35-foot game-winning basket against Duke during the Elite Eight.

Other starters, Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed Jr., are moving on after having exhausted their college eligibility.

The UConn program is expected to make a few moves and add portal players too. A center, forward and guard are all needed to firm up this roster.

UConn also landed a new transfer on Saturday, former Duke Blue Devil, Nikolas Khamenia. He wrapped up his freshman year at Duke averaging just under six points a game.

All eyes move to Solo Ball to see where he plans to play next season.
