(Gray Meda) – TikTok influencer Sydney Towle died after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. She was 26.

The news was announced in a social post Thursday with a photo of her on a mountaintop saying, “An endless ray of sunshine. A daughter, sister and friend to so many.”

The caption said, “We will always love you so much, Sydney. I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you.”

Towle spoke about her cancer diagnosis frequently on social media, explaining she had been diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, which is a very rare and aggressive form of cancer.

According to the Mayo Clinic, cholangiocarcinoma forms in the bile ducts and is characterized by key signs like jaundice, abdominal pain and itchy skin.

Towle’s brother posted a picture to TikTok Tuesday saying that the influencer had been moved to hospice.

“Sydney has been moved to hospice, surrounded by her loved ones. Her friends and family express gratitude for the outpouring of love and support,” her brother Austin Towle said in the post.

With more than 1.1 million followers on TikTok and 213,000 on Instagram, Towle documented her health journey. She told People that connecting with others “gave her a purpose” during the difficult experience.

“What’s really kept me going is the people who message me or even come up to me and say, ‘You’ve helped me so much,’” the late influencer told People. “Just knowing that being vulnerable and real about cancer is making a difference — that’s been huge for me.”
