Man arrested for shooting his wife

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) – A man was arrested for allegedly shooting his wife in Waterbury, according to police.

Jonathan McMillan, 41, was charged with assault first-degree, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, breach of peace second-degree, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal transfer/ sale of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence, and reckless endangerment.

Officers responded to a home on Perkins Avenue around 12:11 a.m. Monday morning for the report of shots fired.

Police found a 48-year-old woman who was shot. She was taken to the hospital.

“Upon further investigation it was determined that the victim had a domestic disturbance with her husband and during the disturbance McMillan shot the victim,” said Waterbury police.

The woman is in stable condition at the hospital and her injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.

McMillan was held on a $1 million bond and his arraignment was set for Monday.
