Shaina Nijhawan

Raised in Madison, Shaina joined WMTV as an associate producer in 2021 while finishing up at UW-Madison.

After graduating from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, she transitioned to a reporter and multimedia journalist role.

Shaina is empathetic, enthusiastic, and an attentive listener, with a passion for telling the stories of the people in her home state—especially human-interest pieces.

Before her career in journalism, Shaina gained experience through internships in various fields, including human resources, public relations, and digital media. One of her most memorable experiences was a 2019 internship with a smart mobility startup in Tel Aviv, Israel.

On her days off, Shaina enjoys cuddling with her pets, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She also loves exploring local restaurants and cocktail bars.
