Five cars found shot in New London Saturday morning

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) - Police in the Whaling City are investigating an early morning shots fired incident Saturday that left 5 vehicles damaged.

According to police, officers were called to the area of Golden Street and Eugene O’Neill Drive around 12:45 a.m. for a call of shots being fired.

When they arrived, officers located items of evidence supporting the initial report in the municipal parking lot in the above area to include more than 20 shell casings.

Five parked unoccupied vehicles were struck by gunfire.

Investigative Services Division personnel responded.

Evidence has been collected, the scene has been processed and the surrounding area canvassed.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. This does not appear to be a random act, and investigation remains active.
