Two arrested in Danbury after weeks-long drug investigation

DANBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - A monthlong investigation into drug sales in Danbury ended September 22 with two arrests, the Danbury Police Department said.

Special Investigations Division detectives, working with the DEA’s Bridgeport Field Office, took Patricia Saunders and Ronald Reiske Jr. into custody, according to police.

Police said Saunders had been living at and selling drugs from 7 Fairfield Ridge Unit G, a City of Danbury Housing Authority property. Detectives were already familiar with Saunders from prior narcotics cases, police said.

Investigators obtained court-authorized warrants to search Saunders, her cell phone and the Fairfield Ridge address.

During surveillance, police said detectives watched Saunders leave her home, drive to 72 South Street and carry out a drug sale in the parking lot there. Detectives moved in and took Saunders and Reiske Jr. into custody without incident. Officers said they found crack cocaine on Reiske Jr. at the time of his arrest.

Detectives followed the arrests by carrying out the search warrant at the Fairfield Ridge unit. The search yielded crack cocaine, an electronic scale and a firearm, according to police.

Police said both suspects were taken to headquarters and booked.
